A Portugese Asian Wedding Album

This wedding album has it all…the stunning detail, colour and vibrancy of an Asian Wedding and the beautiful destination wedding setting of Penha Longa resort near to the Unesco World Heritage site of Sintra in Portugal.

M&N chose the Dreambooks Album with the exquisite Nogal Wood cover. The striking Bordeaux Red micro leather along the spine and back of the album contrasted beautifully with the natural feel and shade of the wood. A perfect complement to their bold wedding colours! The album was completed with a matching wood box. In order to add the perfect touch of personalisation, both cover and box were stylishly engraved with M&N’s wedding logo.

The 15×10 inch landscape format allowed full use of the background to showcase the wedding photos in my Flaunty design style and there were 34 double page spreads to incorporate all the photos from their wedding events which took place over three different days.

WEDDING ALBUM SPREAD - THE INTRODUCTION

As the album style was full on and Flaunty, I made sure that the several images used filled the spread and exhibited the stunning colours and location of the wedding. The exquisite black and white image of the newlyweds in a rare quiet moment was the perfect showcase image to start the album and it contrasted well against the array of colour and detail in the left hand images. The bold strip of colour used to highlight the text matched the outside of the album.

WEDDING ALBUM SPREAD - THE PRE-WEDDING EVENT

This album spread sets the scene of the pre-wedding party with both the bride and groom prepping to celebrate with their family and friends. I wanted the colourful umbrella photo to show through without overpowering the foreground photos and the panoramic layout of the 15×10 inch album allows a nice flow of photos from left to right.

WEDDING ALBUM SPREAD - BRIDAL PREP

Such beautiful photos of the bride preparing for the ceremony. The Flaunty design style is full on so it’s about getting the right balance between background and foreground images. The stunning photos of the bride alongside the dress shot created a perfect focus to draw the eye in, complemented by the smaller foreground photos featuring the bride getting ready and close ups of her accessories.

WEDDING ALBUM SPREAD - THE CEREMONY

As M&N’s was a traditional asian wedding ceremony, there were various elements and rituals that took place and needed to be shown in their album. Each spread focused on a different section of the ceremony. In this spread, the four smaller photos set the scene of the arrival of the groom and his family with the larger focus image featuring him prepping for his bride’s arrival!

WEDDING ALBUM SPREAD - SHARED EMOTIONS

There was a LOT going on in this wedding album spread, focusing mostly on M&N with some beautiful images of them both sharing the emotions of the day with their nearest and dearest. Using different sized images in the foreground really helped to break up the layout and ensure each photo could shine through and not get lost amongst the other images.

WEDDING ALBUM SPREAD - GROUP PHOTOS

M&N were keen to include lots of posed family and group photos to ensure they had included everyone within their album. With such vibrant detail and colour featured in both the decor and the various wedding outfits, I utilised the full page and kept photos to a simple layout.

WEDDING ALBUM SPREAD - EVENING RECEPTION

M&N’s evening wedding event was a real glitzy affair and quite a contrast to the beautiful weather, scenery and colour of the daytime ceremony! The couple both changed into glam outfits and blue was the overwhelming theme colour. Unlike some multi-event wedding albums I’ve produced, M&N didn’t want each event separated in the album but rather to flow alongside each other. So this spread almost acted as an introduction to the evening, showing the new outfits and accessories and both of them getting ready. I used just two bookended background photos which allowed a nice flowing montage of photos across the middle.

WEDDING ALBUM SPREAD - THE SPEECHES

Using several photos worked well on this spread to really portray the feel of the ambience in the room. We included a mix of the speakers, reactions of the guests and the musicians. The image featuring the room and table layout was the perfect backdrop image to showcase the atmosphere and of course the groom’s speech had to be a focus!
