Ben & Kath's Wedding Album
Ben and Kath opted for a beautifully clean Fresh style album design for their stunning South African beach wedding. The Dreambooks album featured a tracing paper insert which sits before the first spread in the album and which I used to include their initials to match the album cover and wedding details. They chose the prestigious Tuscany leather for their cover in Cream.

Here’s some of my favourite album spreads:
I used just four photos in this spread of Ben and his groomsmen getting ready and relaxing before the ceremony – and they worked well in a flowing layout. The group shot was fantastic for setting the mood so I made sure it was prominent and the centre of focus and contrasted well with the solitary black and white images of Ben.
Possibly my favourite spread from the album! Pure focus on the bride, Kath in a range of poses and broken up by the close up of the flowers. The four portrait images flowed well beside each other in a uniform size and layout.
I’m just in love with the setting for the ceremony and those blue skies! For this spread which visualises the entrance of Kath and the general ceremony atmosphere, I wanted to create a flowing montage to showcase the moments. From close ups of the Kath and her father to snapshots of the bridal party, guests and Ben’s emotion when he sees his bride!
More moments from the ceremony…..it’s always great to work with not only images of the happy couple, but to have those candid shots of guests, the scenery (especially when it’s as amazing as this!) and close ups, to be able to create a visual of the wedding as a whole. Of course, the first kiss is a real key moment of the ceremony which is why I used a full page for this one image and supported by some smaller images on the left page.
The posed shots of the newlyweds are always a key focus in any album. I always try to group images that are similar – whether they are posed or in the same location. These photos taken with that stunning lush green background all complement each other.
I absolutely love these photos! They work so well in black and white and needed to be showcased in a large size without too much distraction – which is why I used only the two photos of the front and back of the group side by side. Simple works best in this case!
Ben and Kath wanted to include a fair few photos of them both that were taken on the deserted beach….to be fair, I would find it hard not including any of these as they are all stunning! Rather than include them all of a similar size, I decided to layout one main large size photo with the smaller photos on either side, in order to break up the focus. The landscape image is perfect as it sets the scene with the smaller close up images supporting.
There were quite a lot of party images to include on this album spread – fortunately they worked to a symmetrical layout and I chose to focus on four larger images (all featuring at least the bride or groom!) with 8 supporting images to help create the snapshot of everyone have fun.
