Donna & Nigel’s wedding album

Donna & Nigel opted for my new Signature album with the popular and stunning velvet cover with my favourite paper – velvet smooth! The design was a mix of my stylish and flaunty styles.

The mix of details shots, solo image of Nigel and the photo of the boys worked well together with the larger detail shot providing the perfect background for the groom prep spread.

This spread was a dedication to those intricate bridal details….just look at the back of that dress! The 15×10 inch album creates a panoramic spread which is ideal for including a couple of full page/background photos and a beautiful flow from left to right yet still featuring some space between the images. The left hand side of the spread was a little busier but the white space on the right created the perfect frame for the stunning silhouette image of Donna having a quiet reflective drink before the ceremony.

There were several photos focusing purely on Donna & Nigel during the most important part of the ceremony where they said their vows, exchanged rings and the first married kiss! A simple left to right flow featuring the portrait images worked perfectly to tell the story of those vital moments and create a focus on the couple themselves without any distractions.

Donna & Nigel opted to include a quote from their wedding vows and as they had 25 spreads in their album it meant I could dedicate this spread with one simple stunning ceremony image along with the quotes. I matched the font – the stunning Burgues Script – to their wedding stationary. It’s a fairly elaborate font so it needed a fair amount of white space around it and not too many distractions.

I love these natural shots of the newlyweds, they look so happy and like they are having a lot of fun! The images filled the spread so I kept it to an uncluttered layout of just 3 photos without any overlaps.

A perfect introduction to the reception! This section of the album can be quite busy with lots of photos of speeches, room and table details and guests, so it was nice to create a spread that simply featured the happy couple and simple shots of the venue……love those giant letters!

Those letters definitely got utilised! Donna and Nigel had lots of first dance photos and wanted to feature several of them in the album. The coloured shot of them laughing together whilst dancing was an ideal feature image with a mix of different sized smaller images to create a montage effect. The mix of black and white and colour images also helps to break up the focus.
