Matching Wedding Albums for a Multicultural Wedding

Raj & Geoff’s multicultural wedding was a blend of Sikh and English traditions. Their multi-day celebrations featured several events so they were keen to showcase them in three separate wedding albums. The first album covered Raj’s pre-wedding Sikh traditions at her home and at the Gurdwara. Taking place the following day at Ditton Manor in Berkshire, the second album features their Sikh Indian wedding ceremony. As a final chapter, their third album focused on their traditional English wedding ceremony.

THE THREE WEDDING ALBUMS

There’s a few decisions to make when you’ve got not one, not two…but three wedding albums (It’s bad enough with one!) You can choose different sizes, or different covers and colours. Or they can all be the same spec. R&G really liked the Dreambooks Wood wedding album and wanted to keep the sizing the same at 15×10 inch landscape. The beautiful thing about this album is that the spine and reverse are covered in a faux micro leather which comes in several shades and all contrast beautifully with the natural wood front. So R&G were able to keep consistency throughout all three albums by using the same Nogal Wood cover whilst choosing different leather colours to complement each of their wedding events. All three albums were paired with a matching Nogal Wood Box. R&G chose:

To also keep the consistency across all three wedding albums, R&G chose to laser engrave a logo of their initials along with their names and the date of each event on the front of both the albums and boxes.

THE WEDDING ALBUM DESIGNS

Consistency was the key in the album design too, with R&J opting for a full on Flaunty style with images filling the page layered with smaller foreground images. This allowed all the vibrant colour and details from their wedding to radiate through the albums and showcase their blend of cultures. Here’s some of my favourite spreads from each of their wedding albums…

Pre-Wedding Album

Raj’s pre-wedding ceremony featured a multitude of colour and detail which had been captured by the photographer. The Choora bangles and detail on the  Dupatta headscarf were the perfect backdrop to kick off the album. There was a lot of detail and action in the photos. By using one or two key full bleed photos accompanied by several smaller foreground photos, each page told the story of each ritual without looking too busy. In some spreads, the use of black and white helped to break up the photos as the amount of vibrant colour could be a bit overwhelming at times!

SIkh Wedding Album

You can see why R&G chose the Bordeaux Red Micro Leather for this album! Once again, there were several detail photos showcasing the couple’s outfits and traditional Sikh wedding rituals that provided the perfect vibrant backdrop to the album spreads. They were keen to include a couple of important quotes in their albums and the quote in this album was the perfect finale placed alongside two stunning photos of them both in the landscaped grounds of Ditton Manor.

English Wedding Album

The Rose Gold metal micro leather that R&G chose for their English ceremony wedding album was the perfect complement to Raj’s pink and gold dress. Background images in this album were focused on the more traditional English wedding elements such as the flowers, wedding rings and cake. The thing I love about these three albums is that, by utilising these full page images, it sets each album apart and the varying traditions and colours shine through and create a completely different vibe for each wedding album.
