So, another wedding-filled year has come and gone. Wedding albums galore! In the past twelve months, I’ve had the pleasure of creating some stunning albums for fabulous couples and their weddings. Some of those weddings took place this last year but I also get plenty of requests to produce wedding albums with images that are a good few years old. It’s NEVER too late to create your wedding album!
A material cover and a natural feel were still key trends for wedding albums in 2022. Modern cover materials such as Buckram and Linen proved popular but there was an increase in the more traditional style leather look album in Ivory/off white. Such a neutral look fits perfectly with a conventional English white wedding especially those in grand old buildings! Despite the same cover choice, the endless possibilities of bespoke cover printing produced some very different albums!
Here’s some of my favourite wedding albums from 2022…
Damien & Rebekah
Elegant, traditional and demure wedding album
D&M’s wedding album captured the elegance of their 2014 classic French wedding, from its imposing Basilica backdrop to its classic black tie attire. The couple opted for a 14×10 inch Bellissimo Album with matching presentation box. The album was covered in Antique White leather and finished with subtle colourless text stamping – which produced a timeless and sophisticated look. Keeping with that feel on the inside, the Fresh layout style with its large white spaces was the perfect accompaniment.
Becky & Tom
modern wedding album with a graceful feel
B&T wanted their 14×10 inch Bellissimo wedding album to portray their traditional English wedding but with a more contemporary look. So their cover combination of metallic Rose Gold shimmer material with a modern script font in white UV print was an impeccable choice. The Stylish design layout complemented both their wedding style and their photos – a perfect mix of both the modern and classic!
Clare & Steve
Neutral wedding album with a splash of colour
C&S wanted their wedding album to incorporate elements of their wedding theme without being overbearing, so the album still had an understated elegance that reflected their overall wedding style. If in doubt, go neutral and what better choice than White Micro Leather. It has a subtle texture and slightly off-white shade that complements most wedding styles. It was a perfect contrast to the bespoke cover printing; a beautiful illustration of a purple cala-lilly and matching coloured text in a nod to Clare’s wedding bouquet and wedding colour scheme. Their 15×10 inch Dreambooks Album was accompanied by a matching clamshell box and their design layout was in the Stylish style.
Kate & Loren
wedding album with more than a hint of nature
From the array of colourful flowers to the gorgeous grounds of their venue, K&L’s wedding was filled with natural beauty. It only makes sense that their wedding album reflects that! They opted for a 15×10 Dreambooks Album with Light Grey Buckram for a stunning natural texture and feel. Their matching clamshell box was finished with an oak wood rim. A bold script font with bright flowers was printed on the front of both their album cover and box to add a splash of vibrancy and individuality to the grey material. On the inside of the album, K&L had a particular style in mind for their layout which I was more than happy to incorporate
Joelle & James
elegant and simple wedding album oozing class
…that was the brief for J&J’s wedding albums. With two weddings taking place exactly a year apart – due to Covid restrictions – J&J wanted to capture each event in a separate album. Both celebrations took place at the same venue, so they were keen to stick to the same spec for each wedding album. The venue was a beautiful traditional white imposing manor house so the Dreambooks 15×10 inch in White Micro Leather cover and clamshell box all in white were the perfect fit! Both albums were completed with gold shade script font to keep to the clean, minimal and elegant brief. The layout throughout was in the refined Stylish design.
Raj & Geoff
modern wedding albums mixing nature with bold colours
There were three events to capture at this multicultural wedding, which called for three different wedding albums! There’s always the temptation to choose completely different album covers, especially when each event is quite unique. But some cohesion to link the three events is a good idea. R&G really liked the idea of the wooden wedding album covers. They are stunning and natural looking but the micro leather spine and rea cover feature add a truly unique and modern twist. It meant that they could keep the relationship between the albums whilst also making sure each was different enough to celebrate the individual event. The three micro leather colours they chose were closely related to the colour scheme for each event. Their wedding events were big, bold and busy so a full on Flaunty design layout was the perfect style to tell their story.
So that’s a wrap for 2022! If you’re interested in creating a bespoke wedding album, then please get in touch. I’d love to help!
