Devinder & Vinod's Wedding Album
This month, I’m featuring a stunning colourful Asian wedding album. With 25 double page spreads to work with and a Flaunty style brief, the design was BOLD! I loved being able to feature not one but four full blown single image double page spreads which became a real focus of the album. Devinder & Vinod wanted their album cover to match the colour and vigour of their wedding so opted for the beautiful Dreambooks velvet album in the vibrant red shade along with a matching Clamshell Box and featuring their wedding logo laser engraved on the cover.
Here’s some of my favourite spreads from the album:
Such a stunning photo of the bride fully deserved a full page spread to itself and it blended beautifully into the page.
D&V had lots of pre-wedding build up images to include in their album including lots of wedding prep and family photos. This spread was purely focused on Vinod’s arrival at the ceremony alongside his family members. The image focused on V arriving up the steps was the perfect focus image to build the spread around with the smaller images built around it.
When designing album spreads, I always take into account not only what is going on in the image but how ‘busy’ the images are. The ceremony room and decor for D&V’s wedding was very ornate. Coupled with the beautiful colour and embellishments of their outfits, there was a lot going on so I had to ensure the photos and layout were kept fairly simple and minimal.
Another album spread which I kept fairly simple to ensure the photos didn’t get lost amongst the page and each other. There were several similar photos of the happy newlyweds which worked perfectly together – it’s a matter of balancing out the poses, and close ups vs full portrait shots. Even with the full on Flaunty style where images fill the page, the overall layout can still be quite simple and clean.
This was another image that was just made for standing out on it’s own! Beautiful curving lines of the staircase draw the eyes into the centre featuring the bride and groom. An image which I felt needed no distracting from others.
There were some beautiful images of D&V taken after the ceremony both inside and outside the beautiful Danson House venue. These two images worked perfectly together – a landscape doorway shot coupled with a close up of the newlyweds. The weather was a bit damp but it just adds to the atmosphere with the wet floor creating a beautiful sheen and the vibrant umbrella!
I just love these images – they portray such genuine fun and laughter focusing on the happy couple surrounded by their guests. I knew I wanted to make the largest image the key focus of this album spread with supporting photos to capture the moments they left the ceremony to be greeted by their friends and family.
