Kate & Loren's Wedding Album
A true labour of love, this month’s featured wedding album perfectly reflects K&L’s garden/nature-themed wedding. When they approached me, K&L already had a rough design which they were relatively happy with, so it was just a matter of tweaking and improving it. Featuring 24 double-page spreads in a 12×10 inch size, the album was from the Dreambooks Range. One big dilemma for K&L was which cover to choose to complement their photos and theme and after a fair bit of deliberation, they finally settled on the Light Grey Buckram. They had a custom-designed wedding logo featuring their wedding flowers which was a perfect addition to the front cover and provided a stunning pop of colour against the Grey material.

Some of my favourite spreads from the album:
THE INTRO
K&L added a Vellum paper insert to their album which was the perfect place to add one of their wedding logos featuring their initials, alongside their names and wedding details.
GETTING READY
I just love the colours in this photo of the bridal party before they get ready! It filled the page beautifully and was complemented by the two smaller black-and-white images of the bride getting ready.
MORE BRIDAL SHOTS
Now the prep is done, it’s all about showing off that beautiful dress and having a few moments with the girls before heading to the ceremony. I’m a massive fan of black and white images as they draw attention to the expressions and moments of emotion without the distraction of colour.
THE BRIDE ARRIVESS
A really simple yet effective strip style layout which shows the flow of the key moments before the ceremony starts. The Groom waiting in anticipation, the Bride being led down the aisle by Dad when finally the soon to be husband and wife finally see each other!
FIRST MARRIED MOMENTS
Two stunning posed photos of the new married couple. They both worked really well in colour with such lovely muted and natural tones.
THE BRIDAL PARTY
These two contrasting pages work so well together. On the right hand side, we really make the most of the page filling it with the image and lots of colour. On the other page, a large white space frames the black and white image beautifully.
THE GUESTS
When you’ve got a large group photo, it works best on it’s own across a double page spread. Otherwise individuals are just too small and the photo almost becomes pointless. Here, I’ve used a small white border rather than fill the entire double page which creates a nice frame around the bold coloured image.
PARTY TIMEY
This black and white image perfectly captured the party mood with the focus on the happy couple in the middle. It worked so much better blended into a back background which also allowed the smaller detail images to stand out.
THE FINALE
Every wedding album tells a story, so needs a proper ending. Such a stunning image, was a perfect finale! K&L were keen to include a short quote and this fitted well alongside the photo on the spread.
