Sehr & Danyal's wedding albums
This month’s featured wedding album is actually two different albums featuring a wedding ceremony and a wedding reception which took place a year later! Sehr & Danyal opted for the beautiful Bellissimo Album in a 14×10 inch landscape format. Both albums featured the stunning Natural Hessian material cover – one in Grey and one in Auburn – which produced a really natural and elegant feel and differentiating between the two whilst keeping a cohesion. When it came to album design style, Sehr & Danyal really liked the simple and classic Fresh style which did suit their photos, particularly the reception album photos. The albums were finished with a matching presentation box and beautiful subtle laser engraving to finish off.

Both albums featured my Fresh style – classic layouts with surrounding white space complemented by some single page full page images as a showcase!
Here’s some of my favourite spreads from the albums:
This spread was dedicated to the beautiful bride and is a great example of using full page images which can really stand out even with the simple Fresh theme. You don’t need many images on a spread like this…just the main portrait shot and some supporting detail images.
Sehr & Danyal were keen to include a couple of prayers and quotes that had special meaning. We kept it quite simple to ensure the text didn’t distract from nor get lost amongst the images. This particular verse worked well alongside their ceremony photos.
Ten months later, different outfits, a different venue in a different country! Sehr & Danyal travelled with their friends and family to celebrate with a reception party in Italy. I really love the mix of black and white and colour photos in this wedding album spread. It really helps to break up the montage and allow each individual image to stand out particularly with the red background in the colour images. I’m really partial to a black and white photo!
The ceremony scene and such a beautiful outdoor location! In this spread I included a mix of images of the happy couple along with views of the guests to really create a feel of the whole scene. It was again a mix of both colour and black and white images and using the full page bleed.
The ceremony is over and there were some lovely photos of Sehr & Danyal emerging from the throng of guests which were a perfect match for their own spread. It’s a simple yet flowing layout with focus on the middle image which has beautifully captured the moment.
My favourite spread of the whole album and such a simple one! Just two photos that each have a full page to themselves to really show off and I love the contrast of the lush greenery against the simplicity of the black and white. It would be easy to fill both pages to the edge but using some white border on the black and white photo just separates the photos enough so they each stand alone.
Another example of how text can fit alongside the images without being overbearing or looking out of place. This prayer was a little more ‘wordy” than the verse in the first album so it worked well to create a column of white space to break up the photos and ensure the text blended well into the layout.
There are some instances where I need to include more photos together on a spread – usually reception or evening photos where there is lots going on. These layouts are usually a bit more tricky as it’s all about ensuring each photo can still stand out whilst working together with the rest of the images. I always like to use different sized images in these layouts. What I love about this album is the larger images separated by smaller montages – particularly the black and white image in the middle!
The cake album spreads always seem to feature in my favourites….not sure why that could be?! When I saw these photos I knew they had to be in a flowing layout and all the same size as it almost acts as a film reel capturing the moments between cutting and eating the cake – with a close up in the middle of course….yum (*walks off to find some cake!)
